Chehaw Wild Animal Park – Albany (40 minute drive)
Enjoy animals at the Chehaw Wild Animal Park, it’s named after the indigenous tribe that lived on the Creek. The original animals came from the zoo in Tifton, but now they come from all over and the park was accredited by the AZA in 1997. There’s an education center, a BMX Bike track, a playground and more – you’ll never get bored.
Wild Adventures Theme Park – Valdosta (45 minute drive)
If you like a lot of action on a day out, you could do worse than the Wild Adventures Theme Park with around 50 rides and roller coasters it’s a day out you won’t forget and your family will love. There are animals galore too, with a wonderful aviary for looking at exotic bird life. And don’t forget the daily shows and exhibitions.
Lake Park Outlets – Lake Park (50 minute drive)
For something a little more sedate, why not go shopping in one of Georgia’s best outlet malls? You’ll find great bargains for all the family and there’s nothing quite like a new wardrobe to go with a new home is there?
Pebble Hill Plantation – Thomasville (30 minute drive)
Enjoy the history of the South on this gorgeous historic plantation, a beautiful stately home and attractive grounds make it a Southern Belle you’ll want to visit again and again.
Providence Canyons State Park – Lumpkin (90 minute drive)
Providence Canyons is known as the “little grand canyon” for its spectacular views and unspoiled scenery, the canyons (or gullies) are a result of bad farming practices back in the 1800’s but today they make for a majestic view.
